Recent project

Adapto delivered a tailored, on-line back up solution to replace Shadbolt’s tape-based solution.

Before the on-line solution was introduced, tapes containing vital files and records had to be shipped and stored off-site. This was time consuming for staff, involved expensive storage costs and meant data could not be retrieved quickly in the event of a disaster. Now a copy of the data is automatically made and stored off site for 30 days and any data that needs retrieving is available in minutes.

The new solution means Shadbolt’s data is safe and secure in the event of a disaster at one of their offices. The system uses compression to enable large volumes of data, up to 800gb, to be transferred over a low-speed link.

Adapto also provided Shadbolt’s IT team with advice on server virtualisation which complemented the delivery of the on-line back up solution.
